Pampore youth wins global reader’s choice award for his book

PAMPORE: An engineering student from Saffron town Pampore area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district has compiled two books, one fetched him global reader’s award for 2020.
Saraf Ali Bhat (21), son of Ali Mohammad Bhat, resident of Kadlabal locality of Pampore has compiled two books : a smile worth a billion poems and Triggered sorrows.
One of his books won him the global reader’s choice award for 2020.
“My book, Triggered Sorrow’s was given an award by global reader’s choice in the self held category and with the award I was recognised by Indian book of records in May of 2020,” Ali said talking to Kashmir Reader.
This is the first time any young writer from Pampore has earned this distinction.
Ali, who is pursuing B -Tech at SSM College Srinagar, told Kashmir Reader that he started writing poems from an earlier age and then he thought to compile his poems into a book, a smile worth a billion poems, when he was in class 11th at DMPS Pampore. “A smile worth a billion poems was my first book and it was appreciated by readers which encouraged me to write more,” he said.
Triggered sorrows is a short story centred about a student’s personal experience of living away from his family.
His poems were highly appreciated by readers and by local writers.
He thanked his parents for supporting him to write.
