Uri residents aghast over unscheduled power cuts

BARAMULLA: The unscheduled power cuts are causing hardship to the residents of Uri area of Baramulla district, with locals saying that the power department is carrying out undue cutts in the area with supply frequently snapped in evenings.
The locals of the, Kamalkote, Sultandaki, Madya, Shahdara, Nambla, Garkote, Tarkanjan, Boniyar, Tilawari, Pringal, Noorkhah, Danisyeda,Uranbuha, Gingal, Ishim,Nawarunda, Dardakote alleged that from past several days the power development department (PDD) carrying unnecessary power cuts due to which people are facing hardships.
Mohammad Yousaf Khan sarpanch Kamalkote said they have no issue with a break in day but the department resorts to unscheduled cuts during evening to morning ,which is bothering us.
Also a local resident from Uri town said that their areas are metered and the department should provide them 24 hours power supply, however they are providing us only a few hours of power supply and they are forcing us to come on the roads for protest.
They said there are three power houses in the Uri that are providing electricity to several areas of the valley and country but our area is facing hardships.
“We have no issue with a three hours break in meter areas but the department resorts to unscheduled cuts during when power has to remain on ,which is bothering us,” Javid Ahmed Banday said.
Similarly, the other villagers said that if the department will not solve their problem, they will hit the streets and the department will be responsible consequences.
