Kupwara: Two bear cubs trapped in a water storage tank in Sogam Lolab area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday morning were rescued by the Wilddlife officlals.
Locals said that some people of Kumar Mohla, Sogam spotted two black bear cubs inside a newly constructed water storage tank in the area and that people informed it to local police and wildlife department. The locals said that despite a lot of search they could not find their mother in the area.
They said later a team of wildlife department and local police reached the spot and rescued both the black bear cubs professionally.
Wildlife Worden for north Kashmir Mohammad Maqbool Baba said that both the bear cubs were tranquilized and rescued by a team of wildlife officials. He said both the cubs are fit and fine and we will be freed in nearby forests.
He added that a team of officials is there in search of their mother.
