Srinagar: The three day long distrct level Wushu championship 2020 held at Gindun Ground Rajbagh concludes here on Saturday. Around 250 players in various categories viz (Sub-junior, junior and senior) participated in the championship.
Former minister and senior National Conference leader Nasir Aslam Wani who was the chef guest on the prize distribution ceremony gave away the prizes.
Speaking on the occasion Wani appreciated the efforts of Wushu Association for organizing the championship in covid -19, following the guidelines of the government and providing the players platform to show their talent.
He congratulated the Association of J&K for their efforts for the prominence of this combat sports in the entire UT of J&K.
He appealed the government for establishing state wushu academy as wushu is the only sports in which J&K has won medals at the Asian Games, world championship and Asian championship.
The championship was organised by District Wushu Association Srinagar.
