Anganwadi workers, helpers protest, seek timely wages

SRINAGAR: The Anganwadi Workers and Helpers working in the Ingreated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme on Wednesday held a protest demonstration here in Srinagar demanding the government to release their honorarium on the monthly basis.
The protesting Anganwadi workers and helpers from various districts of the Kashmir Valley assembled here in press enclave under the banner of All Jammu and Kashmir Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Union and chanting slogans “We want justice,” and “Release our Honorarium on Monthly basis”.
The protesting workers and helpers said that they are working in the ICDS department from last 20 years but the government is not release our honorarium on the monthly basis.
Latifa Ganie, Vice President of the Union said that we are Anganwadi workers and Helpers which are running the Anganwadi centres across the Kashmir valley.
“We are not receiving due on time that creates financial difficulties for us . Now we requested the higher authorities to release our Honorarium on monthly basis,” She said.
