BARAMULLA: With the onset of winter, the unscheduled power cuts in several areas of Baramulla district have increased significantly adding to problems of local people. People said that unscheduled and frequent snapping of power has become a norm and during evening power cuts are more usual.
Large number of people from Uri, Boniyar, Narvaw, Baramulla, Kandi, Pattan, and Tangmarg said that they are facing shortage of power supply from past few days, which indicates that we will face acute shortage of electricity in this winter.
They said the department is not taking effective steps to improve the electric supply as a result of which there is outrage among the people towards the department.
People said when department installed the meters in our areas, they promised a 24 hours uninterrupted power supply , but that promise was not fulfilled. The people have demanded the L Gadministration and senior officials of the concerned department to take serious note of these power cuts and take immediate steps to improve the power supply in wake off approaching winter.
