RDD daily wagers protest in Srinagar, demand regularisation

SRINAGAR: The Daily wagers working in the Rural Development on Monday held a protest demonstration here in Srinagar demanding regularisation of their services in the department.
The protesting daily wagers from various districts of the Kashmir Valley assembled here inside the premises of the Directorate office at Lal Mandi under the Jammu and Kashmir Rural Development Department Daily Wagers Association and chanting the slogans “we want justice” and “we want regularisation of our services,”.
Parveez Ahmad Bhat, President of the Association said that we have been working in the department from the last 25 – 32 years under SRO 64.
” As per the SRO 64 the daily wagers who have completed 7 years time period should be regularised in the department, but we have been completed 25 to 32 years in the department, but our services have not been regularised yet,” Bhat said.
He said most of the employees have get retired from the department, as their wages have been stopped by the department with in a three years most of the daily wagers are getting over age and that will get retired from the department, as they will not able to get any kinds of benefits which the department is given to its permanent employees.
” We have completed all the formalities for the regularisation of services related, but only one observation certificate which is not issued by the department, after we will get an observation certificate from the department we will get the regularisation in the department,” he added.
Bhat Further said that we are demanding the government to issue the observation certificates in favour of the daily wagers and take necessary steps for the regularisation of our services,”
The protesting daily wagers said that they have been appointed as daily wagers before 1994 but their services have not been regularised yet.
The protesting daily wagers requested the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to look into the matter and regularise their services in the department.
