The varsity vide two different orders transferred two senior officials who happen to be president and general secretary ofSKUAST-K Scientists & Teachers’ Association. The orders on their face appear to be a revengeful act on the part of the university authorities to keep the officers from raising their genuine demands.

“The transfers have been made purely with mala fide intensions to muzzle the voice of association,” Prof. S.A. Dar, president SSTA said.
“We did not ask for stars, yet the university administration failed to address our genuine demands like CAS, KVK Salary, Arrears and increments. Constrained by their inaction, we went on a peaceful and symbolic protest programme,” Dar said.
He said that at a time when they were expecting that good sense will prevail over the university administration and their issues will be addressed, “the administration issued these orders, which amply demonstrate the revengeful attitude of the authorities against the association office bearers.”
“The VC is completing his term of 5 years on 22nd of this month and even at the fag end of his term, he is using a dictatorial approach to suppress the genuine dissent,” Prof. Dar said.
