Director ISM visits Baramulla, reviews implementations of AYUSH schemes

BARAMULLA: Director of Indian Systems of Medicine (ISM) J&K Dr Mohan Singh e-reviewed implementation of AYUSH schemes and work done of doctors, and also held a meeting with sub-ordinate officials and doctors in Baramulla on Thursday.
The meeting had a detailed discussion on various issues and schemes like NABARD, National AYUSH Mission, establishment of AYUSH Health and Wellness Centres and preventive measures being taken up to tackle COVID-19 pandemic through AYUSH interventions.
District officer ISM Baramulla Dr Raja Amjid Ali informed the director that thousands of people across the district including personals of security forces, people from far flung areas of Uri, Tangmarg, Rafiabad, Kandi have been provided AYUSH immune boosting medicines as part of prophylactic and preventive measures during COVID-19 pandemic.
While talking to media men at Dak Banglow Baramulla director ISM Dr Mohan Singh said that he is very much aware about how the ISM doctors done their job in past months mostly in Covid 19 pandemic, he said it is fact that Covid 19 is still alive and fresh cases are increasing and our doctors are still on ground fighting with this pandemic. He congrats his doctors, para medical staff, officials who work on ground level in past months and are still in contact with general public.
He said, we have large number of wellness and sub wellness centres in Baramulla where our doctors are providing free medicine to the patients and other visitors.
Dr Mohan Singh informed that department also sanctioned 50 bed hospitals to various districts of Jammu and Kashmir and we have also a proposal to occupy a piece of land in Baramulla which has been identified where we can construct a 50 bed fully equipped AYUSH hospital in the district, so that people could not go to other districts.
Deputy director Dr Syeed Hyder, assistant director Dr Suja, nodal officer for Baramulla Dr Riyaz Ahmad Khan and other large number of doctors attend the meeting, where director take the review of implementations of wellness centres, sub wellness centres and hospitals and other department schemes.
