Gulmarg Gondola starts second phase, 176 tourists visit Affarwat hills

BARAMULLA: The government of Jammu and Kashmir started the second phase of Gulmarg Gandola on Saturday.
On the very first day 176 tourists took a ride and visited Affarwat hills on Saturday, officials said.
They said 176 tourists including local and non local visitors enjoyed it and visited Affarwat hills. Earlier tourists visited Gulmarg to Kangdoori tourist spot that is first stop of the Gondola.
They added that the corporation earned around two lakh rupees as ticket charges from the tourists both from first and second phase, they hope that it will increase in next few days as more visitors will visit ski resort Gulmarg.
The officials said that tourists can visit Kangdoori every day in week but the second phase will be only for Saturday and Sunday will all protocols earlier announced by the health department and government.
Earlier the government of Jammu and Kashmir announced that the operations will be carried out only twice a week, Saturdays and Sundays by observing requisite protocols of Covid-19, maintaining social distance, sanitization of cabins before and after boarding and de-boarding of passengers, compulsory wearing of masks by all, etc.
No tourist shall be allowed to board the Gondola without wearing masks and any tourist with temperature exceeding 99° Celsius shall not be allowed to enter the premises of the ropeway.
The government stopped the Gandola services from 20 March 2020 after Corona virus pandemic led to shutdown.
