2 killed several injured in separate road accidents in Kupwara

BARAMULLA: Two people were killed and several others including some army men were injured in two different road accidents in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday.
Officials said that a labourer was killed and seven others including four labourers and three army men were injured when an army vehicle in which they were travelling met with an accident in Kupwara district of north Kashmir on Thursday afternoon. They said that an army vehicle turned turtle near Bari-Baihka area some 20 kilometers far from district headquarter Kupwara in the afternoon resulting in the death of a labourer and injury of other seven people. The deceased labourer was identified as Daulat Hussain son of Amirdeen resident of Marsari village Kupwara.
The injured were identified as Subedar N S Nimbalkar, havildar Hav-S P Sanap and Sepoy Sule Chandrakant of 216 army regiment, and labourer Naveed Ahmad Khan, Javaid Ahmad Khan, Ishfaq Ahmad Khan of Marsari Chowkibal and Irshad Ahmad Katariya of Tumina Kupwara.
All the injured people including army men were shifted to different hospitals for treatment.
In the morning, One person was killed while two others injured after a tractor overturned in the same north Kashmir district.
Reports said that a tractor turned turtle after its driver lost control on it on Thursday morning in Thayan Kalaroose area of Kupwara, resulting in the killing of one person while two others received injuries who were shifted to hospital for treatment.
The deceased was identified as Farooq Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Qadir Mir of Thayan Kalaroose and the injured persons were identified as Manzoor Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Rasool Dar and Bashir Ahmad Mir son of Mohammad Akbar Mir both residents of Kalaroose area.
Kupwara police registered the cases against the both incidents and started its investigation.
