NIA raids several places in Baramulla

Baramulla: Sleuths of National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday carried out raids at several places in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district in connection with a case related to arrested Deputy Superintendent of Police Devender Singh, officials said. Officials said that teams of NIA Tuesday reached the Palhalan village of Pattan along with paramilitary CRPF and police and carried out a search of a local trader Gulam Rasool Waza and the house of an ex-Sarpanch Tariq Ahmad.
They said Tariq was arrested by the police last year in a drug peddling case. Later they also rushed to Kanispora and Boniyar, areas however, the officials yet not disclose further details.
The NIA carried out searches at five places in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday
The NIA had filed a chargesheet against Singh and others in July for alleged militant activities in the country.
