Pampore: Senior Superintendent of Police Awantipora Sunday inaugurated “Habba Khatoon Football Tournament” at Chandhara Pampore.
The inaugural match of the tournament was played between Chandhara Football Club and XI Boys.
SSP Awantipora had an interactive session with the players and general public and assuring them of every possible support to boost the sports activities in the area.
He said that youth will be provided with the infrastructure and opportunity to express themselves in the world of sports.
A total of27 teams from various districts are participating in the tournament.
He was accompanied by SDPO Pampore Imtiyaz Ahmad and SHO Pampore Adil Ahmad in the inaugural ceremony. The tournament is being played in the memory of late Ghulam Mohi -U- Din Ganie, a social activist of yesteryears.
