Joint drive carried out in Pampore, many people without masks fined

PAMPORE: Authorities on Saturday carried out a joint drive in Pampore area of Pulwama district to inspect adherence of SOPs on COVID -19.
During the drive many persons were randomly screened for COVID -19 near Khrew Chowk through rapid antigen testing.
Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din told Kashmir Reader that the drive was carried out to enforce use of face masks.
“Various persons found without masks were fined,” he said, adding samples of many people were randomly taken on the spot.
He added that they also fined some passenger vehicles, shopkeepers for violating SOPs on COVID-19.
“People are instructed to wear face masks whenever they venture out of their houses,” he added.
