SRINAGGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Awami National Conference has welcomed the statement and the quick action taken by the army in confirming “Prima Facia evidence “ that its troops misused and violated powers under AFSPA that resulted in the cold blooded murder of three innocent laborers hailing from Rajouri in Amshipora Shopian .
While appreciating the action taken by the army, the ANC VP Mr.Muzaffar Shah and the ANC General Secretary Mir Mohammad Shafi demanded that all legal formalities for a time bound speedy trial be conducted to punish the accused army personnel under section 302 of the IPC .This will set a precedent and act as a deterrent in future for all trigger happy personnel in the security forces and all other police agencies involved in anti militancy/Law and order operations in J&K.
The ANC has reiterated its earlier demand echoing the demand of the entire population of Kashmir, that it is high time AFSPA be withdrawn from J&K forthwith. The ANC appeals to all political parties, in particular to the Political Parties of the Gupkar Deceleration to raise one voice in demanding the revocation of AFSPA which has till date resulted in humongous violation of human and legal rights of the people of Kashmir and loss of thousands of Lives over three decades. The ANC has demanded immediate compensation to the families of the bereaved Amishpora victims.
