BARAMULLA: A leopard electrocuted to death in Lontha village of Tehsil Karnah in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Sunday morning.
Locals said that a leopard entered the village in the wee hours of Sunday and jumped over to an electric transformer where he came into contact with a live wire and received electric shock, they said later officials of the power development department reached the spot and down the body of the leopard from the transformer.
The officials of the wildlife department said that they took the body of the leopard into their custody and investigation has been taken up.
Meanwhile, police also registered a report in this regard.
