Four injured in a bear attack in a Kupwara village

Baramulla: At least four people were injured in a bear attack in Lalpora area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday.
Official sources in the wildlife department said that a black bear entered Lalpora village of Kupwara on Saturday morning, and some local people tried to chase them resulting in the bear attacking and injuring at least four people. Later the officials of the wildlife department tranquilized the bear and shifted it to another place.
Range officer wildlife department Naseer Ahmad Rawa confirmed that they captured the black bear and then released him in another area in dense forests far from the civilian population. He appealed local people to not venture outside alone mostly early in the morning and evening and use proper lights in case of emergency.
