Er Aijaz meets LG, discusses various issues

Asks him to release Muharram mourners, regularise daily wagers

SRINAGAR: BJP National Youth Vice President Er Aijaz Hussain on Tuesday met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to discuss various issues with him related to public, politics, and governance.
In a statement issued here, Aijaz said that he requested the LG to release the recently detained Muharram mourners who were caught while taking out the procession from various areas of the Kashmir Valley.
“I told him to give them a chance so that others wont use their arrest for their own interest,” he said,
Kashmir administration had arrested scores of mourners who taken procession in various parts of the Valley to commemorate the martyrdom of Iman Hussain (AS) and his family members. A number of them were injured too, many are at the brink of losing their eye sight.
The West Bengal in-charge also told the LG to keep Shia community into consideration for their representation in the delimitation process so that they too have say in the political affairs of Jammu and Kashmir.
Regarding the regularisation of the daily wagers, which is a long pending issue in the JK for a long period of time, Er Aijaz said that he also asked the LG to their issue in priority so that they too have the secure livelihood.
“JK has thousands of daily wagers who are working in various government departments for many years. A sizeable chunk of them too have crossed a age limit and have families to take care off.
“So I told LG sahab to please consider their issue on priority. I am hopeful that actions will be taken for the betterment of all the people,” he added.
Er Hussain also said that he discussed ways of how people can be engaged in time to come so that they can participate in the democratic process.
