SHOPIAN: Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Choudhary Mohammad Yasin and Regional Director Survey and Land Records (Maraz) Anantnag, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shah, today conducted joint review of the progress of digitization of land records and functioning of the department.
The DC directed the concerned officers to complete the digitization of all the Jamabandies before the initiation of new measurement process and asked them to double their efforts so that the same is accomplished before the initiation of land measurement. He instructed the concerned to correlate the quantum of each measured field with the official records so that no dichotomy creeps into the newly created records.
The DC maintained that the results of this process are highly scientific and accurate therefore the records produced thus are more reliable and would have greater utility.
Dr Hafeez urged upon all the concerned to complete the process of making Jamabandies by September this year so that their digitization is taken in hand forthwith.
He further asked them to expunge all the illegal entries from the revenue records besides accelerating the process of eviction from kahcharai and state land.
DC also exhorted upon the concerned to get the images and details of all the water bodies in their respective areas as per GoI guidelines by utilizing the services of the already provided gadgets and further revealed that the same is to be preserved and protected for posterity.
