Community hall collapses in Kupwara, 3 families living in it escaped unhurt

BARAMULLA: Three families who were living in a community hall at Tekipora area of Kupwara miraculously escaped unhurt after a community hall in which they were living collapsed on Saturday late evening.
Locals said that walls of c ommunity hall fell down on Saturday late evening however the families living in it escaped unhurt.
They said in the month of March several houses were gutted in a fire incident in Tekipora area of Lolab in frontier district Kupwara, after which the administration shifted at least three victim families into nearby community hall, however on Saturday late evening two walls of community hall fell down and the victim families escaped unhurt. The local people of the area just reached the spot and shifted the victim families to other places for the night.
The local people alleged sub standard material was used in the construction due to which it collapsed. Locals demanded that action should be taken against the contractor and concerned officers responsible for the building.
Meanwhile, district administration Kupwara shifted the victim families to another safer place and also ordered the enquiry of the incident.
