5 family members among 24 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Pampore

PAMPORE: 24 new cases of COVID-19 including 5 family members were reported from Pampore Medical Block in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.
Block Medical Officer Dr Gulzar Ahmad told Kashmir Reader that 24 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported from different villages in Pampore medical block which include 5 members of a single family. The BMO said that samples of many persons were collected yesterday out of which test results of 20 returned positive.
They added that rapid antigen test results of 4 persons were reported positive at SDH Pampore on Monday. The BMO Pampore, Dr. Gulzar Ahmad said that 24 positive cases have been reported in the medical block Pampore in addition to 9 repeat cases.
He said that out of 24 new cases 5 members belong to a single family and 2 from another family from Pampore town.
The Pampore Medical Block registered 514 positive cases of COVID-19 since March. 373 cases were declared recovered, 14 people died from the infection.
Currently there are 129 active cases in different isolation centres in Pampore, Samboora and other isolation centres.
Meanwhile samples of 84 persons were collected at IUST Awantipora, Samboora, PHC Lajura and Kong posh hospital Pampore.
Four people and one attendant were discharged on Monday after recovery from Covid from the isolation centre at PHC Sambora and were advised to undergo home quarantine for 14 days.
