Rafiabad Colony residents demand immediate power supply for their houses

Baramulla: Residents of Bagat Colony Budan in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district are without electricity from the years due to which the local residents of the area are facing hardships. Local people of the area said that over a dozen families constructed houses from some distance of village Budan some three years ago and renamed it as Bagat Colony Budan.
However since establishment of the colony they are knocking the door of officials of the power development department (PDD) for providing electricity, however the concerned department is not paying any attention towards the colony, due to which people are facing hardships.
Iqbal Ahmad a local resident, said that we disconnected our old houses years ago, but are still paying monthly tariffs after the department assured residents that they will provide us with a new power supply line and will connect the colony ,however the colony is without electricity for years.
Superintendent engineer (SE) power development department north circle Muneer Ahmad said that some orchard owners are not allowing us to install electric pole and wire on their orchards due to which we could not able to provide supply, now we came into conclusion that we will install a new transformer in the colony and will provide them electricity.
