BARAMULLA: The sub district hospital (SDH) in Tangmarg area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district was partially damaged due to fire on Saturday morning.
Official sources said that fire was broke out in the first floor near the operation theatre of the hospital and it also damaged the emergency ward of the hospital. The officials and workers of the health department shifted the patients and important material out from the hospital and later the patients were shifted to nearby health centre Hari Watnoo.
The fire tenders and other people including police also reached the spot and dosed the flames. “The fire was broke out around 5 am, our alert staff members shifted the patients and other equipment out from the hospital and started to dose the flames, however, a ward and gallery was partial damage, which we will clear it in few days, all the patients and other important equipments are safe” a senior health officer posted at the SDH said.
The cause of fire could not be confirmed immediately. Meanwhile, Tangmarg police register a case and start its investigation.
