Spike in Covid cases continue in Pampore

12 of a family among 40 cases

PAMPORE: With relaxation in lockdown during past few days the Covid-19 positive cases have seen a rise, with 40 including 12 family members reported in Medical block Pampore on Thursday alone. The coronavirus cases have been reported from different villages of the Pampore tehsil and other villages of Medical Block.
Block Medical Officer Pampore Dr Gulzar Ahmad told Kashmir Reader that the cases have been reported from different villages and quarantine centres in Pampore medical block.
“ The coronavirus cases have increased and are being reported from remote areas of the medical block also,” he said.
While notifying the areas from where the cases have been reported he said that twelve cases have been reported from a single family at Tulbagh Pampore out of eighteen samples taken, eight cases have been from Khrew area, three from Wuyan, four from quarantine center Malla hostel Awantipora and from Karimabad, Wanpora and other villages of Pampore medical block.
He said that keeping in view the spike he requests the people to avoid gatherings on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha. “The public is informed to follow Covid-19 guidelines if they want to remain safe from this pandemic which has claimed thousands of lives and infected millions in the world,” he said, adding that the people should leave the casual approach towards this pandemic so that they do not get affected from this pandemic which hits the social fabric the most.
