Srinagar: Special Secretary Social Welfare Department and former Director Tourism Kashmir, Tasadduq Jeelani succumbed at JVC Bemina in Srinagar Friday evening after contracting COVID-19, officials said.
Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr Shifa Deva confirmed Jeelani’s death.
Jeelani, Dr Shifa said, was admitted to the hospital around two weeks ago with underlying ailment of Pneumonia and later suffered multiple organ failure besides Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome.
He breathed his last this evening, Dr Shifa added.
Pertinent to mention here that Jeelani, who had contracted COVID-19, was said to be recuperating at JVC Bemina after a police constable donated his plasma to him recently.
