‘Gatherings prohibited as covid control measure; Eid prayer to be offered at home’
DODA: Eid-ul-Adha arrangements were finalized today here at a meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Kishori Lal Sharma and attended by representatives Beopar Mandal and other Associations, besides senior functionaries of police and civil administration. In view of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting discussed implementation of SOPs to prevent the spread of deadly coronavirus during the auspicious occasion. The ADC directed the concerned to ensure proper sanitation, fumigation, distribution of essential commodities, uninterrupted electricity and water supply besides availability of poultry and sacrificial animals.
To curb black marketing, profiteering and hoarding on the eve of Eid, the ADC directed the concerned officers to intensify the market checking and take strict legal action against the erring traders. Besides, it was decided that there shall be no Eid prayer in Eid gahs or in mosques anywhere in the district.
Moreover, the ADC directed the shopkeepers to abide by the necessary guidelines issued by the District Administration in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
