BARAMULLA: In a shocking incident a 60 years old man was allegedly killed by his younger brother over a land dispute in Nihalpora village of Pattan Baramulla.
Sources said that scuffle broke out between the two brothers in Nihalpora village of Pattan on Saturday over a piece of land, initially both the families exchanged heated arguments and then later turned into scuffle.
During the brawl 60 years old (elder brother) received serious injuries when allegedly beaten by his younger brother. The injured was shifted to trauma hospital Pattan where from he was shifted to SKIMS where he succumbed Monday morning.
The deceased person was identified as Bashir Ahmad Yatoo son of Abdul Rahim Yatoo of Nihalpora Pattan.
On Monday, the sources said that body of the deceased was handed over to his family for last rites in presence of Tehsildar and SDPO Pattan.
Police said that a case FIR number 191/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in police station Pattan and further investigation is on.
Sources said five people including two minors and younger brother of deceased who is said to be main accused have been arrested so far.
