26 vehicles seized in Pampore, Khrew for violating lockdown

PAMPORE: Amidst strict restrictions, the Jammu and Kashmir Police seized 26 vehicles in Pampore and Khrew areas under police district Awantipora on Friday for violation of lockdown rules.
Concertina barricades were erected on roads by police at different places in Pampore town to enforce the lockdown.
In order to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, Police Station Pampore and Khrew seized 26 vehicles for violating lockdown order, a police officer said.
SDPO Pampore Imtiyaz Ahmad told Kashmir Reader that 12 vehicles were seized from Pampore town and 14 in Khrew area for violation of lockdown norms.
“Besides, a fine of Rs 6,000 was realised from 26 persons for not wearing masks in Pampore and Khrew,” he said.
Police officials said that many persons roaming without masks were fined.
Rupees 7,000 were realised from lockdown violators in Awantipora areas, they said.
Police authorities again appealed to people of Pampore, Khrew, Awantipora and Tral to stay indoors and cooperate with law-enforcing agencies for implementation of effective lockdown.
