BARAMULLA: A day after the body of a Baramulla youth Ashiq Hussain Bhat was found in Handwara, after he went missing from a relatives home in Rafiabad, his family has demanded probe into death.
Ashiq son of Nisar Ahmad Bhat of Hajibal village Baramulla had visited her relatives in Hunoora village Rafiabad, however on the same day according to his aunt and other relatives he left the home and went missing, and the family of youth lodging a missing report in police.
On Wednesday some local people in Handwara spotted a dead body of youth in a pond and they informed the police, later a team of Handwara police recovered the dead body and identified the deceased as missing youth Ashiq Hussain Bhat of Baramulla.
The body was later shifted to his Baramulla home after all legal formalities and carrying of burial. Locals said that a pall of gloom descended in his native village when the dead body reached his home.
The family members, however, said that the deceased youth was murdered and police should investigate it on priority and should expose the killers.
A senior police officer said that a case under relevant sections of law was already registered and after receiving the body of youth they started its further investigation. He said police will not leave a single stone unturned in this case and will solve the case very soon.
