Two injured in a bear attack at Tangmarg

BARAMULLA: Two people were attacked and injured by a black bear in Tangmarg area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday.
Sources said that a black bear entered into orchards in Kilwara village of Tangmarg Monday morning and attacked two people working at their orchards. The other people in nearby orchards just reached the spot and chase the black bear.
Both were shifted to nearby SDH Tangmarg where from were shifted to SMHS hospital for advanced treatment. The injured were identified as Mohammad Akbar Magray 65 and a female Shamema Begum Wife of Ghulam Qadir Sheikh 39 both residents of Kilwara village Tangmarg.
Meanwhile, officials of the wildlife department were called to trace and catch of the black bear, who according to local people are roaming in the area from past couple of days.
