Health team attacked in Tangmarg village, vehicle damaged

BARAMULLA: A team of the health department was allegedly attacked and abused by a group of people in a Tangmarg village on Monday when they were going to take samples from some people of the area.
Official sources in the health department said that after hike in covid 19 cases in the region a team of health officials of block Kunzar on Monday morning reached the village Ogmuna Kunzar area to take samples. They said as the team reached the village, a group of people attacked their vehicle and abused the team. Later they chase the health team and warn them to not take any more samples in the area. The attackers damaged the official vehicle of the health team.
Chief medical officer Dr Deeba Khan confirmed to Kashmir Reader about the incident and said that this is very unfortunate that a team of the health department were treated like this.
She said that, for the past several months, teams of the health department have left their homes, families and are working for the betterment of society, but when people treat us like this, how can we do our job. She said she was shocked to know about the incidents.
Dr Khan said that she informed the police and deputy commissioner Baramulla about the incident and they assured their full support, and I hope they will take action against the said group of people involved in the crime.
