23 drivers fined Rs 11,500 for rash driving in Pampore

PAMPORE: Authorities of Revenue Department along with Jammu and Kashmir Police realised a fine of rupees 11,500 from around 2 dozen tipper truck drivers in Saffron town Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district for rash driving and violation of lockdown norms.
Tehsildar Pampore, Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din and SHO Pampore, Manzoor Ahmad penalised 23 tipper drivers for rash driving and violation of lockdown norms during a naka at Galander area of Pampore.
“We were receiving complaints from people about rash driving by tipper drivers on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway in Pampore,” Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din told Kashmir Reader , adding that they laid a naka at Galander on Wednesday during they fined 23 tipper drivers for rash driving and violating lockdown norms.
He added that the fine will be deposited in a Red cross account.He appealed to drivers to take care while driving on National Highway to avoid accidents.
SHO Pampore, Manzoor Ahmad, told Kashmir Reader that during the past couple of months, more than 8 accidents occurred on National Highway in Pampore near Galander, resulting in killing of three persons and injuries to many.
