Baramulla: Police and forest department recovered a large quantity of illicit timber in Rafiabad area of Baramulla district on Saturday night.
Official sources said that after receiving specific inputs a joint party of police and forest department during checking at Tragpora area of Rafiabad on Baramulla Kupwara road, they said in midnight an auto bearing registration number JK05B 8479 full with timber was stopped, during search officials found the auto full of illicit green timber which was recently cut down from upper reaches of Rafiabad. The officials arrested two persons Irfan Ahmad of Baramulla and Firdous Ahmad a resident of Sopore and registered a case against them. Further investigation is on.
