Diagnostic centres across the Baramulla closed: officials

Baramulla: After score of pregnant ladies who visited several diagnostic centres for health checkup tested positive for novel Coronavirus, all the diagnostic centres across the district Baramulla has been closed by the health department.
Official sources in the health department said that from past several days they observed that score of pregnant ladies who visited different diagnostic centres once or twice in a week for health checkup were tested positive for covid 19, and the department came into the conclusion that they closed it all for some time so that department can test all the staff members working at these laboratories.
They said department has received the swab samples of score of staff members working at the centres and they received the result of several while some are still pending, as the department will receive their results, they will allow centres to resume their normal work.
The district health officer (DHO) Baramulla Dr Bajhan Kour told Kashmir Reader that there are 46 diagnostic centres in Baramulla, inwhich few are already non functional due to shortage of doctors or other reasons, while others were closed by the department till we will complete the testes of all working at the centres, “we were not sealed these centres, we closed these centres for few days, so that we will conduct proper checkup of employees working at the centres after that we will allow them to open under protocol issued by the health department.” DHO Baramulla said.
The chief medical officer (CMO) Baramulla Dr Deeba Khan confirm to Kashmir Reader that all the diagnostic centres has been closed temporally in Baramulla. “Yes we closed all the centres in Baramulla for few days, so that we will test all the staff members of these centres, as their swab tests will come negative for covid 19, we will open them under proper guidelines issued by the health department”. She further said that, ” pregnant ladies are visiting different diagnostic centres for checkup mostly in private, and we also ordered to conduct the test of all pregnant ladies above the age of 34 years it is very important to us, so that we will make sure their safety accordingly, there are so many important centres where trained doctors are available and they have lot of space, we are making sure that there should be social distance, explicity and other important things and we will open it all, because we know health check for such patients are also important”. CMO said.
