Two snakes rescued by NGO in Pampore, IE Khunmoh

Pampore: Two snakes have been rescued from Pampore and Industrial Estate Khanmoh, by an NGO on Wednesday.
In a first incident, a snake was captured from Pampore area of Pulwama district by representatives of Wildlife SOS.Local residents told Kashmir Reader that the snake was roaming in the area from last three days.
“A couple of days ago it was spotted in a tripper and then entered into the premises of tehsil office Pampore, ” the residents said.
The residensts called Aaliya Mir J&K project head Wildlife SOS here , for capturing the snake on Tuesday but she was unsuccessful as the snake didn’t show up.
However on Wednesday evening it appeared again and ventured into a dry fruit shop where it was captured by Aaliya to be released at a safe place.
“At Wildlife SOS we protect bears but of late we started receiving calls for capturing snakes,” Aaliya said.
She told Kashmir Reader that it was fifth snake she rescued in past week. On the same day, she rescued one more snake from Khanmoh area of Srinagar outskirts.
The NGO said a members of their team were dispatched to carry out the rescue operation on Wednesday after they were informed that a snake was spotted in Industrial Estate Khunmoh.
The snake is currently under observation and will be returned to its natural habitat, once deemed fit for release, the NGO said.
The residents at both the places thanked her for her timely effort.
