Ex Servicemen from Kashmir hail new Domicile policy

SRINAGAR: In a meeting ESM Association Kashmir, welcomed the New Domicile Policy/ Certificate promulgated recentlyannounced by GoI.
The Chairman said that it is a landmark and historic Rredemption of the 70 years long pending anomaly which denied domicile to all people of J&K. He further said that the new domicile policy/act will benefit all especially the deprived refugees, Kashmiri migrants and children of our daughters married outside the state.
It will also benifit the children of all serving soldiers deputed in J&K from all other states of India, when they study here and pass 10 & 12th Std exams which will make them eligible for Domicile Certificate & jobs in J&K.
He thanked the Prime Minister Narender Modi and the Home Minister Amit Shah for this bold step. Further, he mentioned that our leaders from J&K, especially Dr Jitendra Singh, MP have played a key role in this amended Domicile Certificate.
He also mentioned that the Ex Servicemen of Kashmir, especially from Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry are fully committed to the Nation First approach under the guidance veteran, Lt Gen Rakesh Kumar Sharma, AVSM, SM (Retd).
He said that the welfare of Ex Serviceman of Kashmir establishment of a Sainik Colony in Srinagar , creation of Zila Sainik Welfare Office at Anantnag ( for for Ex-servicemen of four districts ie Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama and Shopian) (long pending demand) and regularization of ESM employed by JK Bank since 1996. Though these issues have been taken up at almost every level but nothing has fructified till date thus adding to the miseries of ESM.
