Baramulla: An army soldier was injured in an accidental fire inside their camp in Hari area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday morning.

Sources said that Hawaldar Rakash Kumar belongs to 8 Jat regiment was cleaning his service rifle, however, it went off accidentally and the soldier received a bullet on his chest from close range. The other troops shifted the injured person to nearby army hospital Dragmulla where he was treated.

Soldier was currently posted with 160 TA regiment at Hari Kupwara. SSP Kupwara, A S Dinkar said that as per their initial reports the a soldier was shifted to hospital in an injured condition.
