Avoid gathering in mosques during Ramadhan, offer prayers at home : Authorities to Pampore residents

PAMPORE: Authorities in south Kashmir’s Saffron town Pampore on Friday held a detailed meeting with all mosque Imams and managing bodies of the saffron town to counsel them on measures to be taken during the holy month of Ramadhan.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora, Zaffar Ahmad Shawl and attended by Tehsildar Pampore , Ishtiyaq Mohi ud Din , SP Awantipora, Tahir Saleem, chairmen of local mosque committees of Pampore and concerned Imams. Tehsildar Pampore, Ishtiyaq Mohi ud Din told Kashmir Reader that the mosque Imams and chairmen of mosque management committees of Pampore were asked to follow the already issued advisory on COVID -19 during the month of Ramadhan.

“They were told that there should be no group prayers in mosques during Ramadhan. People should offer prayers at their homes to help in containing spread of COVID-19,” he said. He warned that strict action will be taken against those who didn’t the advisory on COVID-19.
