Troops exchange fire along LoC in Kupwara

Kupwara: Troops of India and Pakistan on Thursday evening exchanged fire along Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara.

Official sources said that the two sides targeted each other on forward posts along the LoC of Karnah in Kupwara Thursday evening in which they fired mortar shells to the posts of each other.

Locals population in Karnah said panic gripped in the village due to the shelling.

Station House Officer Police station Tangdar, Wasim Ahmad, confirmed to Kashmir Reader that there was an exchange of firing on forward posts of Karnah sector for some time. Later, it stopped.

Earlier on April 12, three civilian including a female and a minor boy were killed while several houses were damaged shelling along LoC in Kupwara.
