Srinagar-Leh highway opens partially to replenish essential supplies

Sonamarg: Leh highway, a strategic road that connects Ladakh with Kashmir, was thrown open partially on Saturday to carry essential commodities from Srinagar to the region after remaining closed for six months. SSP Ganderbal in a press conference said that in a phase first, 18 authorised oil tankers will allowed to move towards Ladakh and in a second phase, trucks carrying essential commodities will be allowed from Srinagar towards Kargil and vice versa. He said that the movement of passenger vehicles won’t be allowed.
