Guzhama village in Ganderbal declared red zone after first positive case

GAN DERBAL : After first positive Covid-19 case was reported from village Guzhama in district Ganderbal, District Magistrate (DM) Shafqat Iqbal has declared it red zone and its surrounding areas including Batpora and Khanpora as buffer zones. He appealed people of the district to cooperate with the district administration and to adhere to restriction orders to stem the community spread of infection. He ordered the concerned to ensure the strict imposition of restrictions in the areas which have been declared red and buffer zones in the district.

Invoking prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC, Disaster Management Act, 2005 and Epidemic Diseases Act 1897, he said that there will be no inward and outward movement of any person from the village declared Red zone. He directed the nominated administrator of red and buffer zones to ensure supply of essential commodities including food grains, LPG, medicines and other items as per laid down protocols in the villages in close coordination with line departments. DM urged all those having travel history of Coronavirus affected countries and who have come in contact with the Covid-19 positive case to immediately contact the established control room to avert any eventuality.
