Overpricing lands 2 shopkeepers behind bars in Baramulla

Baramulla: Two shopkeepers were arrested in Baramulla on Wednesday for overpricing. Police said that they received several complaints against a shopkeeper and a wholesaler increasing the rate of important commodities and forcing the general public to purchase it at a high price. They said that based on the complaints, a team of police station Baramulla raided and arrested both the shopkeepers and register FIR number 31/2020 under section 3/8 EC act against them. People said that all the shopkeepers and road vendors not only in Baramulla but in Sopore, Pattan, Tangmarg, Handwara, Kupwara and Bandipora also taking advantage of current lockdown and are looting people. Meanwhile, Tata Sumo driver was arrested by police for violation of lockdown in border town Uri.
