The birds and me

The birds and me

I never appreciated the freedom of breath that I had

Until my lungs choked. I am home quarantined

None but two things happen now: the day and the night

Empty dark and light, they just pass, without the courtesy

To ask, hello, how are you?

I watch the birds fly through the window

But this morning the birds said Hi to me

I stammered, somehow waved back my hand

I asked if it was out of gratitude or sympathy

They said there must be something special in this morning!

We have always been waving at you! You never replied!

I said, I am sorry!

I never appreciated your flight until

My wings broke off
