Bar pays tributes to Jalil Andrabi

Srinagar: J&K High Court Bar Association Srinagar on Saturday paid tributes to Jalil Andrabi, saying he was a highly talented lawyer.
The statement issued here said, “The executive members of Bar Association held meeting by teleconferencing and paid tributes to Jalil Andrabi. The members stated that Jalil Andrabi was arrested in broad daylight and tortured to death in custody. They said that Jalil Andrabi sacrificed his life for the cause of people of Kashmir. They said that besides Jalil Andrabi, other lawyers, who have laid down their lives for the noble cause, include Abdul Qadir Sailani, Mohammad Sultan Bhat, Peer Hussam-ud-din, Sheikh Mohammad Hussain and others.”
“Bar Association also feels worried about the health of its ailing President Mian Abdul Qayoom, who is under detention since August 4, 2019, and is presently in Tihar Jail, Delhi and we appeal the authorities to release the detainees/undertrial political prisoners from their respective jails, either permanently or on parole,” the statement reads.
