Cow dung on roads pesters Hajin residents

HAJIN: Amid Covid-19 outbreak, locals of Hajin are worried about the sanitation levels in their area with the common practice of dumping cow dung and other waste not being stopped by Municipal Committee.
Locals said that while Municipalities across all towns have increased the sanitation levels, piling of cow dung and waste here has created public outrage which is being ignored by MC Hajan.
The practice is of dumping of cow dung of roads is rampant in Parray Mohalla Hajin, Mir Mohallah and Bon Mohallah.
One of the local wished not to be named said that they have several times brought this matter into the notice of Municipal authorities, but nothing has been done so far.
“Not only is stink emanating from the waste, but it is also covering the lanes and roads besides being a potential for outbreak of diseases and infections in the area,” he said.
When contacted chairman Municipality Committee Hajin Irshad Ahmad told Kashmir Reader that people should refrain from dumping such waste and assured that within days, the waste will be will cleared from the roads and notices will be served to those who dump waste on the roads.
