SHOPIAN: Police in Shopian on Sunday booked villagers for for organising a community function at village Dachoo of district Shopian. The villagers according to police had organised a community programme for distrusting eatable (Bandar) despite that the section 144 CrPC was in place in whole district. Shopian police while advising people to co-operate with authorities and taking all precautionary measures said people should refrain from such activities. A police statement sadi that police booked violators of village Dachoo in FIR no.16/2020 u/s 188,270 IPC at Police station zainpora for violating the District magistrate Shopian order u/s 144 CrPC by organising community function at their village Dachoo of ps Zainpora jurisdiction. Restrictions were imposed in district Shopian by order of District Magisterate in the wakeup of epidemic declared due to COVID -19 virus. The police has also requested people from all walks of life to cooperate with the administration and isolate themselves for prevention and control of COVID-19 virus.
