Srinagar: Srinagar Municipal Corporation Commissioner Gazanfar Ali on Friday said they have procured required chemicals to be used for sanitisation and sterilisation in the city.
He said the civic body has deployed special teams who are working day and night to sterilise and sanitise the areas.
Ali added that they held meetings with traders, bankers, transporters, managements of private hospitals, Imams, and some other organisations and decided that all shops and business establishments except for pharmacies, essential commodities and groceries will remain closed.
Besides, he said that Fruit Mandi Parimpora and other vegetable markets will remain open till 11 am subject to the precautionary measures to be taken by the traders.
The commissioner appealed the citizens of the city to cooperate with the SMC to jointly tackle the corona threat in Srinagar
