Kashmiri comedian makes it to Bollywood

BARAMULLA: The famous Kashmiri comedian Abdul Qayoom Bhat alias Badshah Khan gets entry in Bollywood and has signed a picture. A resident of Tarzoo village of Sopore in northern Kashmir’s Baramulla district, Bhat has signed a film by a famous filmmaker Mohan Singh. Talking to Kashmir Reader, he said that he is very much happy after he signed a film “Dil Hay Mushkil Main” in Mumbai.

He said that all the credit goes to Kashmiri people. “I am only 45 inch tall and above the age of 40 years, but the people across Kashmir has given me a lot of love. It is their love that a filmmaker offered me a role in his film,” he said. Bhat, a middle pass and elder son of his family, was a student of government middle school Hygam where he passed his class 8th and then left education.

He said after that he started doing comedy in local areas and then in different areas of Kashmir and he won the hearts of people who honoured him a new name as “Badshah Khan”. Bhat, who is an employee of Power Development Department (PDD), said it is love of people that a Bollywood film maker called him and offered a role in his upcoming film. He said that after 20th of March, he is going to Mumbai where he will start work. Director and producer of the film Mohan Singh confirmed that Badshah Khan signed his film recently and they will start work very soon. “Yes Badshah met with me past month in Utrakhand and I like his comedy. I decided that I will give him work in my film ‘Dil Hay Mushkil Main’. There are so many superstar actors including Mukash Reshi, Shakti Kapoor, Rajpal Yadave and other actors in this film, and Badshah Khan has comedian role in the film,” Singh said.
