Srinagar: BJP’s Kashmir unit on Sunday welcomed the launch of Altaf Bukhari led ‘Apni Party’. The BJP’s Kashmir media in-charge Manzoor Bhat in a statement said the BJP hoped to work together with the new party for peace and progress in the region.
He said that the BJP is also hopeful that the new party would not deceive the people of J&K as PDP, NC and Congress did during the past 70 years.
“People were fed up of family and traditional politics in the valley and now they want to see a vibrant change,” Bhat said in his statement, adding that the two parties would jointly work for the development of the region.
Bhat said it would be a new political beginning and would pave the way for development and prosperity in J&K. “We hope that the party would act as a platform for people from all religions and castes,” he said.
Bhat urged the new party to not work for vote banks, as the Muftis and Abdullahs did during the past 60 years.
“Issues they raise must have substance and be important for the growth of the region,” he said.
