Weather to remain dry for a week: MeT

SRINAGAR: After light rains lashed Kashmir on Thursday, the weather department has predicted a dry spell ahead for next six days.
Rains lashed Srinagar and elsewhere in the morning and continued till noon. However, upper reaches received rains throughout the day.
Meanwhile, Deputy Director Meteorological department Mukhtar Ahmad said that weather will remain dry till February 26.
The weather remained dry and sunny in the month of February so far except for brief rains that brought down mercury in the Valley.
According to weather official, Srinagar’s day temperature settled at 8.5 degree Celsius while the night temperature was 3.6 degree.
Despite rains, traffic plied normally on Srinagar-Jammu highway. A traffic police official said that only one-way traffic will be allowed to proceed on the highway today.
He said that vehicular traffic will be allowed from Jammu to Srinagar.
